GLBTQ books at the library

Over the past year or so, I have been making a point of purchasing more GLBTQ (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, and questioning) books for the library. When the 2008 Rainbow List was released last year, I went through the library collection to see what books we had and discovered a grand total of 3. In less than a year, we have 13 more and I will be purchasing a number of other books in the next several weeks to support the brand new Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) at the high school. I'm delighted and honoured to be one of the GSA staff advisors!

To be clear, books that I consider GLBTQ are relevant nonfiction and fiction with either a GLBTQ main character or important secondary character, or about GLBTQ topics.

**Updated yet again in June 2011.

**Updated April 2010 to reflect new purchases.

**Update Feb. 20, 2009: the Student Union here at PRHS made a donation to the library and I have purchased 7 more GLBTQ books. I have updated the list to reflect that.
